“If you want the very best outcome from a potentially critical situation, then you want to be at The West Clinic with its world-renowned physicians, highly trained staff and loving environment.”

Linda Horn, Chief Operating Officer

The West Clinic provides a variety of specialized services for its patients, with or without cancer. Our Endocrinology Department focuses on diseases that affect hormone-producing glands such as the thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, ovaries, testes, adrenal, pituitary and hypothalamus. Disorders caused by hormonal imbalances include diabetes, thyroid diseases, metabolism, menopause, osteoporosis, cholesterol disorders, infertility, short stature, kidney stones, Pagets disease and hirsutism in women. At The West Clinic, our Endocrinologists have a special emphasis on bone related disorders, especially osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is a disease of the skeleton that results in the loss of bone mass, which leads to an increased risk of fracture, particularly in the spine, wrist and hip areas. Osteoporosis affects as many as 25 million people in the United States, with 1.5 million fractures each year. Patients who have undergone chemotherapy can be at a greater risk for developing osteoporosis due, in part, to a potential lack of exercise and vitamin deficiencies. The physicians in our Endocrinology Department are available to ensure that such problems do not develop. This added level of service to our patients further distinguishes The West Clinic as a leader in advanced medical care.
